Paint is a coating made from raw materials such as iron oxide or resin, used for decorating and protecting objects. The origin of paint has not yet been definitively determined.
In 1500 BC, paint was already used for painting and decoration in caves in France and Spain. In 6000 BC, China improved paint by mixing and roasting inorganic compounds with organic pigments. In 1500 BC, the Egyptians produced blue and red pigments using dyes such as indigo and madder, but this type of paint was still far from perfect.
In the 18th century, the development and utilization of linseed oil and zinc oxide promoted the rapid development of the paint industry. In the 20th century, major advancements were made in paint technology, leading to the emergence of paints in various colors with stronger adhesion, higher gloss, flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, and high thermal stability.
